A Good Talk

For anyone who hasn't heard yet, I got accepted into John Brown University with a $2,500 scholarship. The enrollment people are way nice, and I'm visiting tomorrow. This is my chance to get a feel for the school, and see if God gives me any heads-upses about it.

This may ramble a little, so brace yourselves.

So after school, I went to Starbucks, then to meet with Jason Holland, the Kenya trip leader. Our conversation varied a lot. I told him about the bad spirit that was on me before the retreat, then this God-spirit that fell on me the other day. As we talked, I came to understand that it was the Spirit falling on me in power. Not only that, but, as I shared on how my giftings seemed to work, it sounds like I may have a lot of prophecy going on. I need to cultivate it and whatnot, but that manifestation of the Spirit is there. Oh, and he gave me a chart thing that told the difference between motivational gifts (from God the Father), ministry gifts (from God the Son), and manifestation gifts (from the Holy Spirit). Those had been confusing me a lot.

He answered my questions about deliverance, but told me that he did more of prophecy and the other manifestation gifts. I want to know about deliverance so that if I ever come across someone manifesting, I'd know what to do. Other than that, manifestation gifts are the things I wanna learn about. Anyway, it was a good talk, and he offered to do it regularly. It'll be hard on me, 'cause I've gotta think of good questions.

Good Monday To You, Sir

I'm feeling incredible right now. Here's what happened, a'ight? I was asking God the other day what on earth to do about my One. I kept hearing the song from Jason Upton's cd where he sings, "And they'll know we are Christians by our love." I was like, "But God, they already know that I'm a Christian. I've already informed them of this," but the song kept coming back to me.

So today, I woke up to my alarm (there's a wonder in itself) and went to Starbucks to get some AIDS coffee (5 cents goes to AIDS kids). I got one for me and one for my One, and also a bag of Flaming Hot Cheatos. I left the coffee in my One's locker, the Cheatos in Sydney's locker, and wrote notes about Paradigm on each of them. I also texted Jordan and informed him about how good the day will be if he gives it and any discouragement that comes with it to God, and he was excited too. My One and Sydney were both overjoyed to get gifts out of the blue. My One texted me later that she'll go to Paradigm after school gets out.

Galations 5:6b, "The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love."

Throughout the day, I felt a lot like I did last year. I'm pretty dern excited.

I know what you're thinking, "Waffles would be delicious right now." Or, at least, you might've been thinking that when you started reading it. Anyway, Sunday was fine and dandy. My dad, sister, and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings (which never happens, 'cause I always go with friends, but most were in California, so I figured "why not?"). I barely listened to the conversation, though, 'cause I discovered as I sat there that I can play Texas Hold 'Em for free the entire meal. I hadn't played in forever, so I really enjoyed it. That afternoon was kinda the silence before the storm. We had a media meeting that night, and, since D. Andrew had nothing planned, we filmed the countdown video for Paradigm. It was me shaving my mustache. A lot of emotions were involved, mostly black nationalism prejudice, but when it was all said and done, my face felt blank. I'm kinda getting used to being a blank slate again, but I can't help but miss the 'stache.

Monday lacked importance. I played an online game a lil' bit, worked on college application stuff, and read my book for school (which is the only thing I should have been doing, 'cause it's so friggin' long). I watched this sermon from a guy who sounded really negative at first, but turned out to be a pretty dern convicting thing, and, while watching it, God gave me a revelation about a part of my dream. I've got a haircut appointment, so I don't have time to share it now, but when God tells me the whole deal, then I'll put it on here.

Tuesday, I woke up for early morning prayer, where I was complaining to God about having to go to school for so long while everyone else gets to move on with their lives, and He reminded me of how long Jesus had to wait till he could even do ministry. I've been doing ministry for most of my life. The only thing I have to wait on is a career, which could be considered a blessing in disguise. Then we went out to eat afterwards, then to Starbucks. All of that lasted till around noon, then I went to do yardwork for my dad at his office, which he had been yelling at me about lately. I wanna murder that friggin' weed-eater. That night, I was gonna get Starbucks with Katie ('cause we had coupons), but she couldn't go, which turned out to be just as well, 'cause later on, I saw a rainbow nearby, and went on a rainbow chase. I chased it for at least ten miles before it had retreated too far into the sky for me to catch up to. It was pretty extreme.
