Dealing With Ye Olde Generational Curse

Well, it's been a week since I got back from Kenya, and I've had some time to process things. When God gave me that vision (which I don't remember if I shared on here), I had gone straight for the idea that my hands were physically healing the person I was praying for, because I felt something shift inside, which I assumed to be bones. I now believe that it was supposed to be some other kind of shift, but that I was on the right track with the hands of healing idea. I don't really know if all that is applicable to the trip, but maybe it is, and maybe I helped bring healing.

I should probably tell what happened this week, but I just got through with something I haven't dealt with since around Christmas. That friggin' generational curse. I argued and debated with my dad for 45 friggin' minutes, and the whole time I saw it coming. I hate the stupid thing. It's so hard to deal with. You start out disagreeing on one point, then you feel like crap because more stuff is brought up that you messed up on, and you can't keep up with the change in subjects, so you don't say what you mean to say. Also, he said over and over that I did not have much wisdom, so I needed to listen to him on all of it. And then he started talking about how I have to obey him without question because he wasn't asking me to do anything illegal, immoral, or against the Bible. I friggin' hate it so much. The worst part is, this is only a taste. My dad's side of the family is coming over next weekend. I thought it would all be easier 'cause I knew what I would have to watch out for to prepare for attacks from the enemy, but I'm not feeling any more prepared.

Music Videos and Friends Who Date

Wednesday, I went picnicking with a group of people (for details on that, http://projectnemeth.com/blog/?p=366#comments). Then we went swimming, but I didn't wanna get sunburned, so I tried to stay out of it, but I got burned anyway, and then I got moody. I did all the slides for Paradigm that night, which was pretty dern extreme, and almost flawless. Also, the music video that Newman, D. Andrew, and I made was played there.

It was widely admired, and I'm particularly proud of it. Yesterday was my 18th birthday. I started the day out with Prototype at 9:00 AM (a lil' bit of a stretch for me), then went off to my birthday lunch at noon. Tatiano's was closed (retarded), so we went to Napole's instead. Katie, Michelle, Bri, Newman, Cassie, and James and I all ate a meal over there, and I was tricked into having my meal paid for. Michelle, Cassie, and Bri had to go home, so the rest of us went to Firewheel and looked around. Katie and I brainstormed for our children's book, we looked at colognes for me (and found the one, I think), and then I went with Newman to pick up my new digital camera (which is really cool, by the way), and then went to VBS, which was fine. When I got home, the family prayed together for various trips, but my trip to Kenya in particular. My parents actually left this morning for Mexico, and won't be back till Monday, I think.

Two of my closer friends are about to start dating. I've only heard from one side of it, but the side I heard from hasn't been talking to God lately, and she's been jumping from boyfriend to boyfriend. When her other friend said that he had been praying and fasting, and God had told him to date her, she was overjoyed, and wanted to quit on her current boyfriend. To my knowledge (and I ask her often), she still hasn't talked to God about it. She's trusted that God talked to the guy, and that's all that needs to happen. I don't like how it's looking.

On the other hand, I have another two friends, who stepped back to pray about their relationship a year ago, and I personally had a word for one of them that they shouldn't date (and I knew nothing about any relationship). It's been a year, and, as God had told the girl, the guy had had confirmation on it being okay for him to date, and the two are going to start dating soon. It's been a year of pressing into God and searching for the answer, and God honored it. I like how it's looking.

Texting In Public?

I went shopping with my mom yesterday (Monday) for Kenya at the Dollar Tree, but our trip was cut off suddenly by Alexandra's crappy memory, 'cause, of course, she had forgotten to tell the parents that she had cheer that night. So I was rushed through some shopping, then I got to get my Word time in (haven't been getting as much out of it, 'cause I feel like I'm kinda just waiting for this missions trip now), then I was off to Andrew's house to help edit the music video. It turned out good. Then Juddson, Angela, and I watched National Treasure 2. This morning, I woke up to take down the trash, make the call, once again, to the doctor's office where I hope to work this summer. I kinda lazed around up till it was time for a birthday dinner at Kyoto with my brother. I, of course, texted with Katie the whole time, which brought on general agreement from my parents, Priscilla, and Preston, that texting at the table was impolite. I heartily disagreed. My dad, my sisters, and I all went to Staples after that, where my dad ordered a digital camera for my birthday present and for my Kenya trip. That comes in on Thursday. On our way between that and picking up my prescription for Malaria, my dad concluded that it was impolite to text around anyone else, regardless of where you are. Texting should only happen when you're alone, in his opinion. I can see where they're coming from, but if I get a text at any time, I plan on answering it as soon as possible. I disagree with them.

Swimming

Yesterday, I was supposed to be at the church at 6:30 in the morning. Waking up at that time, I panicked, then ran out the door, stopping only to get dressed (in clothes). Of course, Pastor Nick just told me that to get me there early, 'cause we didn't really start till 7:30. As soon as we were done with it, I went over to Andrew's house with Josh N. and we made a music video for some song by RunKidRun, which I'll hopefully be editing tomorrow, when Andrew teaches me the trade. After that, I went shopping with the Kenya leaders at my new favorite store: Dollar Tree. It was always in the running for favorite, but it's in the lead right now. Anyway, we spent over a hundred dollars on children's ministry junk, then went over to eat at some place whose food was similar to Black Eyed Pea's. That was good, 'cause they paid. Then I went to their house to help pack everything. This was when my dad gave me a call to go to Ruby Tuesdays, where the burgers are overpriced and delicious, so that was fantastic. I went home immediately after and fell asleep at like 9:00 PM, which is really weird for me.

Today, we had our last Sunday Kenya meeting, then had an Upgrade meeting (interns and student leaders), where pizza was provided, and tasted delicious (even though it was CiCi's). Jordan invited me to swim at his older brother, Ryan's, pool, so I did that with them and Trish until drama practice, where I didn't get hit as much, 'cause we found out that I'm supposed to just curl up into a ball for a little bit, so that made things easier. I was invited to Bri's house during this meeting, so I went swimming over there, where I was immediately brought into a ProjectNemeth.com idea for a reality show. I'm excited. After this ('cause my days are eventful), we all went out for a picnic, and I found out about a new Italian restaurant close by, and their fettuccine alfredo was delicious. Following this, Andrew, Jenny, Juddson, Angela, and I all went to play tennis, which was nice, since it's been like ten years since I last played it. On the way there, we helped push a car that ran out of gas, and the guy offered to get us some smokes afterwards. Lastly, we went to Andrew's house, where Zach and Taylor joined us, and we watched a '007 movie, the first I've ever sat all the way through. It was pleasing. And now it's a lil' past 3:00 AM, and I'm probably gonna hang out with Jordan tomorrow, 'cause my Bible junk is in his car (why on earth did I bring it swimming?).
